Optical Microscopy

The platform has a large number of optical microscopes of various characteristics, allowing multiple observations: polarized light microscopy, confocal microscopy, fluorescence microscopy …

Electronic Microscopy

1 routine transmission electron microscope (TEM).

2 scanning electron microscopes (including one with field effect) (SEM).

Freeze fracture set-up, Leica BAF060

It allows the observation by electron microscopy of sections made from frozen samples. It is a technique particularly suitable for the observation of liquid systems (soft matter, dispersions, surfactant phases, polymers in solution, etc.). This last technique is quite rare in research laboratories. It requires special know-how, which the platform has.
